The incident took place in Hartford around 11 p.m., Saturday, April 22 in the area of Farmington Avenue at Gillette Street.
According to Hartford Police Lt. Aaron Boisvert, the victim identified as Anthony Williams, age 30, of Hartford, was found seriously injured on a sidewalk just off the roadway and had apparently been struck by a vehicle.
Officers began life-saving measures on Williams. The vehicle involved fled the scene. Williams was transported to St. Francis Hospital by EMS, where he was later pronounced dead, Boisvert said.
The suspect vehicle in the incident is a white SUV, possibly a Chevrolet Trailblazer, having a roof rack and sunroof, he said.
It was last seen heading westbound on Farmington Avenue from Sisson Avenue.
Detectives from the Hartford Police Crime Scene Division responded and assumed the investigation.
